Article Processing Charges

Rheinforum operates on an open-access model funded through an Article Processing Charge (APC) rather than reader subscriptions. There is no submission fee.

Current APC

The current Article Processing Charge is USD 15 per accepted article. This fee is payable only after a manuscript has successfully passed peer review and been accepted for publication.

What the APC Covers

• Editorial handling and coordination of the peer review process
• DOI registration for the published article
• Issuance of the author certificate
• Long-term digital archiving and preservation of the published record

No Submission Fee

Submitting and undergoing peer review is entirely free. Authors are never asked to pay before a decision has been reached.

Fee Waivers

Fee waivers are available on a case-by-case basis for authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries, or facing genuine financial hardship. Authors seeking a waiver should contact the editorial office before or shortly after submission, describing their circumstances; requests are reviewed confidentially and do not influence the peer review decision.
